How Much Will I Actually Get Back?
It is not 10% of what you paid. The tax inside is 10/110 (≈9.09%) for 10% items and 8/108 (≈7.41%) for food (NTA rates).
| You paid | Tax inside |
|---|---|
| ¥11,000 (10%) | ¥1,000 |
| ¥22,000 (10%) | ¥2,000 |
| ¥10,800 (8%) | ¥800 |
| ¥5,500 (10%) | ¥500 (just at the minimum) |
The amount you receive can be lower if the shop or refund operator deducts a fee; fees are not set by the government, so ask the shop. Use the calculator's fee box to estimate.
