Send Your Suitcase to the Airport (TA-Q-BIN)
Short answer: hand your suitcase to Yamato (a sales office, agency, some convenience stores, or hotel pickup) two days before your flight — three in some areas. It reaches the airport by the day before; collect it at the Yamato counter with your sender receipt.
How it works (Yamato official)
- Two days before departure (three in some areas): drop off by the "sending deadline" — the deadline depends on the counter.
- Fill in the waybill (English waybill available) with your flight date, flight number, departure time and airport/terminal.
- Keep the sender receipt. At the airport, the bag is handed over in exchange for it.
- Departure day: collect it at a participating airport counter (Yamato has a list of airport counters), then check in.
Cost and limits
- Price is by size (sum of three sides) and the region you send from. Yamato's rates include the JPY 660 airport fee and tax, one way, per bag.
